Seperti kisah asli di animenya, seorang mahasiswa bernama Ken Kaneki (Masataka Kubota) bertemu dengan Rize Kamishiro (Yu Aoi) seorang gadis yang mana dia adalah salah satu dari ghoul. Ghoul sendiri adalah makhluk yang terlihat seperti manusia, akan tetapi mereka adalah pemakan darah dan daging manusia.
